Melissa Bellin

I am excited to be working at CRCS! I was born in Minnesota and have lived here all my life. I earned my teaching license through the five year Master’s program at the University of Minnesota. I have taught pre-kindergarten, kindergarten, first grade, and fourth grade. I love being a part of first graders’ excitement for learning to read.

In first grade this year, we will spend our days as readers, writers, mathematicians, and scientists. Our mornings will be spent reading and participating in word work. We will engage in a writing workshop for about an hour each afternoon. We will explore numbers, addition, subtraction, money, and time. Our science units will cover animals, magnets, and plants. We will pair with third graders and middle school students at CRCS and third graders from Blake for reading, writing, and service learning activities. It will be a great year!
